Frequently Asked Questions

No! We are not a temp agency. We are a marketplace platform for dental offices and professionals to contract directly with each other to fulfill shifts. Since we have simplified the process and replaced the traditional agencies with algorithms, GoTu’s platform connects dental professionals with offices that want to put their valuable skills to work!

GoTu is not a temp agency. We are a dental talent marketplace designed to provide professionals with the flexibility to choose when and where they work, while offering dental offices an efficient way to connect with skilled professionals for coverage. Unlike traditional temp agencies, GoTu emphasizes autonomy and empowerment, ensuring that both dental professionals and offices have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed on their own terms.

Hygienists – Yes, you must have an active license and be in good standing.

Assistants – You must hold your state’s required license or certification and be in good standing. In states without licensure requirements, GoTu may request additional related credentials to meet our quality standards.

Associate Dentists – Yes, you must have an active state dentist license and be in good standing.

Front Desk – No, however you must provide at least one contact reference to prove experience working as a Front Desk at a Dental office.

You can use the GoTu web platform or mobile app. Once logged in, you’ll be directed to the “Request a Temp” page where you can post shifts whenever you need.

Download GoTu from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and complete the sign-up process (joingotu.com/app). Once successfully completed, your account will be verified within three business days, and you’ll be able to start applying for shifts.

Every dental professional on the platform is screened, their licenses are verified, and they are peer reviewed to make sure they are qualified to work at your office.

GoTu is committed to protecting the privacy of the digital community. Once the shift is confirmed, you will be able to access the dental office’s information. When you are confirmed, you will be able to see the name of the dental office, address, and any additional notes the office has left. You can also message/call the office directly through the app as soon as you are confirmed.

Download the GoTu app or create an account from the GoTu Dental Portal.

If you’ve been confirmed for a shift at an office you’d prefer not to work with, please cancel the shift right away through the app. Every professional has a 20-minute, no-questions-asked grace period for this reason. To block any offices you’d rather not receive shifts from in the future, feel free to contact our customer service team.

Please note that the 20 minute grace period does not apply for same day shifts

A dental office account can be created by the dentist, the office manager, or another administrator who can verify the office information and enter into a contract on behalf of the office.

  • Once you have accepted a shift, you’ve committed to completing the shift, and the dental office is counting on you. Any shift canceled with less than four days (96 hours) notice will result in a penalty on your account, resulting in a temporary account restriction. This restricts you from applying for any new shifts, but you are still able and obligated to work any already confirmed shifts.
  • Not showing up for a shift you have confirmed without notifying the office within 24 hours of your scheduled shift is considered a “No-call, No-show.” This is considered a breach of your agreement. Having 2 “No-call, No-shows” will result in being blocked from our platform.
  • If you cancel a shift within 24 hours of the start time, and there are future shifts scheduled at the same office, the office has the right to cancel the shift as a grace period to avoid risking a repeat incident. The professional will receive no compensation for a shift canceled by an office, IF they canceled a shift at the same office within 24 hours of the shift start time.
  • In the event of a total dental office closure for reasons beyond the control of the dental practice, including but not limited to infrastructural emergencies such as national emergencies, general building malfunctions and electrical, gas, and water damage, you will be paid 25% of your total days’ pay.
  • If the dental office cancels a confirmed shift between 96-24 hours before the shift, you will still be paid 25% of the booked pay for the inconvenience and lost work.
  • If the dental office cancels a confirmed shift within 24 hours of the shift, you will be paid 100% of the total day’s pay for the inconvenience and lost work, as you may not be able to find work during the same time slot otherwise.

You have 20 minutes after confirming a shift to change your mind if the dental professional doesn’t meet your needs. If you decide to cancel within 20 minutes, you will be fully refunded.

  • You are still expected to work all scheduled shifts on your account unless otherwise informed by GoTu.
  • View all scheduled shifts in the “Schedule” tab. You can also withdraw from any pending shifts there.
  • If your account is restricted and you fail to work a scheduled shift, it will be considered a “no-call, no-show” and will inflict further penalties with the potential of being blocked from using GoTu.
  • Shifts you applied to that the office still needs to confirm are considered pending. When restricted, pending shifts can be confirmed by the office and become scheduled shifts. In this event, you are still expected to work the now-scheduled shift.
  • Always contact support if you have questions about whether or not you are still expected to work a scheduled shift while restricted (786) 460-2170.

You can “favorite” up to 20 dental professionals who’ve worked shifts at your office through GoTu. Just go to Offers -> Open Shifts -> Shift Details, mark your favorites, and use the “Rebook a Temp” button to send shift requests directly to them. For a seamless experience, visit your Professional Hub to quickly manage and rebook your top professionals with ease.

Contractor Shifts (Working as a 1099 Contractor)

GoTu offers dental professionals two payment options:

  1. Direct deposit: Dental professionals must have their bank account or debit card number on file for GoTu to successfully process payments. 24 hours after the shift has been completed GoTu will pay you via direct deposit. Once GoTu issues payment, it may take your bank 2-3 business days to process the direct deposit.
  2. Express pay: Dental professionals must have a debit card information on file and set as your default payment in order for GoTu to successfully issue an express payout. Once an office confirms the hours worked, or 24 hours have passed since the shift was completed (whichever comes first) payment will be issued and be available within 2 to 3 hours.
  3. Always contact GoTu support if you have questions about payments as a contractor (786) 460-2170

We need your identification, license, and certifications to ensure the safety and protection of both dental offices and professionals. GoTu provides credential management services by verifying your license, ID (such as a driver’s license or passport), and any relevant certifications when setting up your account.

This process helps maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism for everyone on our platform. Rest assured, only our verification team has access to your information, keeping it secure.

The dental office can pay using a credit card, debit card, or ACH. Once logged in, simply use the payment tab to manage your payment method(s). Please note, when paying with a credit card, a convenience fee will be applied.

A profile photo is essential for completing your profile and helps dental offices know who to expect when you arrive. Your photo will be shared with offices during the application review, so we recommend choosing a professional one to make a great first impression. You’ll need to upload a profile photo to apply for and complete shifts with GoTu.

While most shifts are filled within several hours, sometimes a shift will go unfilled. This may be due to a lack of professionals in your area or the posted hourly rate in highly competitive areas. You can always contact your account manager for suggestions on maximizing the number of your posted shifts that get filled.

No, you are not required to enter payment or bank info to create your account. However, to collect your payment after a completed shift, you will need to enter your bank info, as all payments through the GoTu platform are completed electronically. Failure to do so may delay your payment.

Offices can post shifts without entering payment information but are required to enter payment information before a shift can be confirmed.

The office can accept or reject your counter. If your counter gets declined, you can still apply for the same shift at the posted rate or explore other available shifts that meet your preferences.
