Hygienists – Yes, you must have an active license and be in good standing.

Assistants – You must hold your state’s required license or certification and be in good standing. In states without licensure requirements, GoTu may request additional related credentials to meet our quality standards.

Associate Dentists – Yes, you must have an active state dentist license and be in good standing.

Front Desk – No, however you must provide at least one contact reference to prove experience working as a Front Desk at a Dental office.

You can use the GoTu web platform or mobile app. Once logged in, you’ll be directed to the “Request a Temp” page where you can post shifts whenever you need.

Download GoTu from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and complete the sign-up process (joingotu.com/app). Once successfully completed, your account will be verified within three business days, and you’ll be able to start applying for shifts.

GoTu verifies the licenses and certifications of every dental professional on the platform. Plus, professionals are rated by dental offices after each shift to ensure they meet your standards and deliver quality care.

GoTu is committed to protecting the privacy of the digital community. Once the shift is confirmed, you will be able to access the dental office’s information. When you are confirmed, you will be able to see the name of the dental office, address, and any additional notes the office has left. You can also message/call the office directly through the app as soon as you are confirmed.

Download the GoTu app or create an account on the GoTu Dental Portal.

If you’ve been confirmed for a shift at an office you’d prefer not to work with, please cancel the shift right away through the app. Every professional has a 20-minute, no-questions-asked grace period for this reason. To block any offices you’d rather not receive shifts from in the future, feel free to contact our customer service team.

Please note that the 20 minute grace period does not apply for same day shifts

A dental office account can be created by the dentist, the office manager, or another administrator who can verify the office information and enter into a contract on behalf of the office.

  • Once you have accepted a shift, you’ve committed to completing the shift, and the dental office is counting on you. Any shift canceled with less than four days (96 hours) notice will result in a penalty on your account, resulting in a temporary account restriction. This restricts you from applying for any new shifts, but you are still able and obligated to work any already confirmed shifts. Please refer to our cancellation policy for more information.
  • Failing to show up for a shift without notifying GoTu (“no call, no show”) will result in a 30-day restriction from the GoTu platform. Repeated offenses or a history of missed shifts may lead to a permanent ban.
  • Please make every effort to attend your scheduled shifts and avoid late cancellations. If your attendance score falls below 50%, you will be automatically blocked from the GoTu platform.

You have 20 minutes after confirming a professional for a shift if your circumstances change. If you cancel within 20 minutes, you will be fully refunded.

  • You are still expected to work all scheduled shifts on your account unless otherwise informed by GoTu.
  • View all scheduled shifts in the “Schedule” tab. You can also withdraw from any pending shifts there.
  • If your account is restricted or in review and you fail to work a scheduled shift, it will be considered a “no-call, no-show” and will inflict further penalties with the potential of being blocked from using GoTu.
  • Shifts you applied to that the office still needs to confirm are considered pending. When restricted or in review, pending shifts can be confirmed by the office and become scheduled shifts. In this event, you are still expected to work the now scheduled shift.
  • Always contact support if you have questions about whether or not you are still expected to work a scheduled shift while restricted or in review (786) 460-2170.

You can “favorite” up to 20 dental professionals who’ve worked shifts at your office through GoTu.  Visit the Professional Hub page to view professionals who have worked with your office before. From this page, you can invite professionals you want to work with again to both existing and or new shifts.

Contractor Shifts (Working as a 1099 Contractor)

GoTu offers dental professionals two payment options:

  1. Direct deposit: Dental professionals must have their bank account or debit card number on file for GoTu to successfully process payments. 24 hours after the shift has been completed GoTu will pay you via direct deposit. Once GoTu issues payment, it may take your bank 2-3 business days to process the direct deposit.
  2. Express pay: Dental professionals must have a debit card information on file and set as your default payment in order for GoTu to successfully issue an express payout. Once an office confirms the hours worked, or 24 hours have passed since the shift was completed (whichever comes first) payment will be issued and be available within 2 to 3 hours.
    • Important Notes on Express Pay:
      • Express Pay is only available for debit card payouts.
      • If a shift adjustment is made, the payout will be delayed until the adjustment is processed, even if Express Pay is selected.
      • If an office does not confirm the hours worked, payment will still be issued after 24 hours, following the end of the shift.
  3. Always contact GoTu support if you have questions about payments as a contractor (786) 460-2170

Example of Payout Schedule:

Day Worked Pay Released Estimated Arrival
Monday Tuesday Thursday-Friday
Tuesday Wednesday Friday-Saturday
Wednesday Thursday Saturday-Monday
Thursday Friday Monday-Tuesday
Friday Saturday Tuesday-Wednesday
Saturday Monday Wednesday-Thursday

* Pay is released 24 hours after completing a shift. Adjustments must be requested within that time.

* Adjustments may delay payout by an additional 24 hours.

* This schedule may vary due to bank holidays.

Employee Shifts (Working as a W-2 employee)

  1. Dental professionals working as W-2 employees are paid on a payroll schedule every Friday for shifts worked the previous Monday through Sunday.

For detailed information on pricing tailored to both private practices and DSOs, please visit our pricing page.

Contractor Shifts (Working as a 1099 Contractor)

As an independent contractor, taxes are not withheld from your pay. GoTu will issue a 1099 for each tax year you work.

Contractor Shifts (Working as a W-2 Employee)

As a W-2 employee, taxes are deducted from each paycheck in accordance with IRS regulations.

GoTu will charge the dental office for both the professional’s pay and the GoTu service fee when a shift is confirmed. All payments are processed through GoTu – offices should not pay professionals directly. If the hours worked differ from what was initially confirmed, any adjustments must be made in the app within 24 hours of the shift ending. The total amount, including fees, will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the updated hours.

We require your identification to ensure the safety and security of both dental offices and professionals. GoTu provides credential management services by verifying your license, ID (such as a driver’s license or passport), and any relevant certifications when setting up your account.

This verification process helps maintain a secure and trustworthy platform, ensuring that only qualified professionals connect with dental offices. By upholding these safety standards, we create a reliable experience for everyone. Rest assured, your information is securely handled, and only our verification team has access to it.

The dental office can pay using a credit card, debit card, or ACH. Once logged in, simply use the payment tab to manage your payment method(s). Please note, when paying with a credit or debit card, a convenience fee will be applied.

A profile photo is essential for completing your profile and helps dental offices know who to expect when you arrive. Your photo will be shared with offices during the application review, so we recommend choosing a professional one to make a great first impression. You’ll need to upload a profile photo to apply for and complete shifts with GoTu.

Most shifts are filled within a few hours, but occasionally a shift may remain open due to limited professionals in your area or competitive market rates. If this happens, try adjusting the hourly rate, modifying the shift hours, or selecting a different date to increase visibility. You can also reach out to your account manager for personalized tips to help maximize your success!

Contractor Shifts:

GoTu ensures proper tax documents for dental professionals using the platform. Dental offices are not responsible for providing these documents on behalf of any professional booked through GoTu. GoTu will provide a W-9 upon request, please contact our customer service team at 786-460-2170 for assistance.

If the rate posted by a dental office does not match your standard working rate, you are encouraged to counter the offer by selecting the counter button on the shift post and requesting your standard rate. The office can accept or reject your counter. If your counter gets declined, you can still apply for the same shift at the posted rate or explore other available shifts that meet your preferences.

GoTu handles all payments to dental professionals. Once a shift is completed, the professional will be paid through the GoTu platform. Please do not pay any professional directly.

By default, we show and notify you for all shifts within a 25-mile radius of your home address. Professionals can adjust the distance to view shifts with the Distance filter in the ‘Shifts’ screen. Professionals can adjust the distance for shifts where they get notified by heading to their Profile -> Personal Info -> Home Address.

Once a professional applies, you are able to review their GoTu profile. This includes but is not limited to, their license information, years of experience, skills, and education, and even the software they are experienced in.

Once you apply for a shift, the dental office has until 7:00 PM the following day to confirm or decline your offer if you applied between Monday and Thursday. If you applied for a shift over the weekend (Friday to Sunday), the office has until 7:00 PM on the following Monday to respond. Keep in mind that offers won’t expire on holidays, so you may need to wait a bit longer for confirmation in those cases. GoTu is not responsible for reviewing the candidate’s profile to confirm or decline offers made to the shifts.

GoTu is a marketplace platform and only provides state-mandated training required for GoTu’s type of business. Professionals receive various required training while obtaining their certification or license. GoTu trusts offices to provide any office-specific training to workers upon their arrival as needed. If any office-specific training is required, the professional will be compensated for the time spent training.
